- Ninety-eight million children and youth between the ages of six and 18 are still out of schools in sub-Saharan Africa, according to a new data released by the United Nation's Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)
- Of Africa's nearly 420 million youth aged 15-35, one-third are unemployed and discouraged, another third are vulnerably employed, and only one in six is in wage employment.
- Each year, approximately 97 million Africans, representing 8.2% of the continent's population, incur “catastrophic healthcare costs”
