Women’s Participation in Peacebuilding

TAJIC Foundation is working with Indigenous women in Tongha (West Region) and Mbelenka (Southwest Region) of Cameroon to promote peacebuilding and address gender-based violence (GBV).

During a mediation meeting, TAJIC Foundation emphasized the importance of fostering love over hate, kindness over cruelty, and peace over conflict. Women play a crucial role in maintaining peace within families and communities. The discussion highlighted that peace is not just a distant dream but a choice we make daily. By working together, we can create a world where everyone lives in harmony.

As leaders, we must prioritize diplomacy over force and dialogue over division. Our differences make us unique, but our shared humanity unites us. Forgiveness is not just for others but for the peace it brings to our hearts. We must commit to building a world where peace becomes the norm, not the exception.

The mediation on gender-based violence focused on creating a world free from violence. Discussions centered on practical actions to prevent violence and support survivors. It is essential to amplify the voices of survivors and foster a culture of respect and equality, ensuring that everyone can live without fear.

In conclusion, the meeting called on women to take active roles in promoting peace, starting within their homes and extending into their communities. Together, we can build a future where peace and justice prevail.
